Designer: Bill Curry, 1962

American designer Curry lived in a timing defined by pop culture and forward-looking optimism, which prompted the designer to create playful and intelligent products. Curry captured the style and mood of the sixties and seventies with iconic lamp designs, which made him a leading designer in California with his furniture company. The futuristic style developed from modernism in the 1930s inspired both the space and automotive industries, and its effects can also be seen in the designer 's work.

Curry developed an innovative norm in lighting, consisting of a fusing base, a bulb and a shade, whose organic yet bold and colorful “LA space-pop” form belonged to the future. Inspired by the delicate yet strong flower stalks that support the large flowers, the Stemlite luminaires are a combination of natural and futuristic elements.

The modern Stemlite remains true to its nature, but is now available with an opal glass dome and three different contemporary finishes. The handmade blown glass sphere and the cast metal stem reminiscent of a tulip stalk create an elegant organic silhouette. Carefully selected finishes allow the luminaires to be combined and matched to both the home environment and the public space. The opal glass sphere creates a soft glow, which is ideal for adding diffused light to a room.

This product is a Stemlite wall lamp available in a black chrome finish. The luminaire has a built-in dimmable switch, which allows you to adjust the light to create a suitable mood in the interior.
